چکیده

The utopia point of a multicriteria optimization problem is the vector that specifies for each criterion the most favorable feasible value. The Euclidean compromise solution in multicriteria optimization is a solution concept that assigns to a feasible set the alternative with minimal Euclidean distance to the utopia point. This paper provides several axiomatic characterizations of the Euclidean compromise solution that are based on consistency properties. ∗We thank Bernhard von Stengel, the Associate Editor, and the two referees for their thoughtful comments and suggestions. †Department of Economics, Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm, SE-11383 Sweden. Axiomatic Foundations for Compromise Theory†

We provide a characterization of the symmetric and weighted versions of the Euclidean compromise solution for multiobjective optimization problems first proposed by P.L.Yu. These solutions minimize a measure of the distance between a feasible set and the utopia point of that set, and are closely related to solutions that have been proposed in the bargaining with claims literature. We provide ne...

Hierarchical Group Compromise Ranking Methodology Based on Euclidean–Hausdorff Distance Measure Under Uncertainty: An Application to Facility Location Selection Problem

Proposing a hierarchical group compromise method can be regarded as a one of major multi-attributes decision-making tool that can be introduced to rank the possible alternatives among conflict criteria. Decision makers’ (DMs’) judgments are considered as imprecise or fuzzy in complex and hesitant situations. In the group decision making, an aggregation of DMs’ judgments and fuzzy group compromi...

A new last aggregation compromise solution approach based on TOPSIS method with hesitant fuzzy setting to energy policy evaluation

Utilizing renewable energies is identified as one of significant issues for economical and social significance in future human life. Thus, choosing the best renewable energy among renewable energy candidates is more important. To address the issue, multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) methods with imprecise information could be employed to solve these problems. The aim of this paper is ...

Axiomatizing changing conceptions of the geometric continuuum II: Archimedes - Descartes-Hilbert -Tarski

In Part I [Bal14a], we defined the notion of a modest complete descriptive axiomatization and showed that HP5 and EG are such axiomatizations of Euclid’s polygonal geometry and Euclidean circle geometry1. In this paper we argue: 1) Tarski’s axiom set E is a modest complete descriptive axiomatization of Cartesian geometry (Section 2; 2) the theories EGπ,C,A and E π,C,A are modest complete descri...

Axiomatizing geometric constructions

In this survey paper, we present several results linking quantifier-free axiomatizations of various Euclidean and hyperbolic geometries in languages without relation symbols to geometric constructibility theorems. Several fragments of Euclidean and hyperbolic geometries turn out to be naturally occurring only when we ask for the universal theory of the standard plane (Euclidean or hyperbolic), ...
